Offense Overwhelms Falcons in Win
Roscoe scored 42 first half points, and forced five turnovers, including three interceptions by Walner Belleus, as the Rush overwhelmed the Chicago Falcons, 42-7, to remain undefeated for 2010. Todd Winnie, making his first regular season start at quarterback, directed a Rush offense that racked up 42 first half points, the most by a Rush team in their eight seasons. Roscoe took an early 7-0 lead on a 17-yard Mike Williams touchdown catch from Winnie. The Rush stretched the lead to 14-0 late in the first quarter on William's second touchdown catch this time for 12-yards. Roscoe increased the lead to 21-0 when Winnie hit Willie Tolon for a 14-yard touchdown strike. Todd Winnie engineered two more touchdown passes to Justin Opengo in the second quarter to give the Rush a 35-0 lead with 2:50 remaining in the first half. After the Rush defense intercepted the Falcons, Winnie scored the final touchdown of the half with a 15-yard run giving Roscoe a 42-0 halftime lead.
For the game, the Rush defense limited Chicago to just 66 total yards (65 yards rushing and 1 yard passing). Todd Winnie went 13-for-23 with 234 yards passing with 5 touchdown passes, and 1 touchdown run. Justin Opengo caught 5 passes for 138 yards and 2 touchdowns, while Willie Tolon added 4 catches for 43 yards with 1 touchdown. Mike Williams led Roscoe with 3 carries for 26 yards and caught 3 passes for 39 yards, and 2 touchdowns. Julie Harshbarger went 6-for-6 on PATs. Geoff Morehead had 5 tackles to lead the defense. Matt Conboy added 4 tackles, while Walner Belleus tied a team record with 3 interceptions in a game.
Next up, the Rush will take on the Leyden Lions at Benedictine University. This is the make up game from the week three that was postponed due to weather. Roscoe will host their first playoff game when the McHenry Pirates come to town on Saturday, September 11th. Kickoff will be at 7pm in Pecatonica.

Help For Today...Hope For Tomorrow
The RUSH family is asking for your help during the 2010 season. I have had the privilege of meeting a great family this past year. The Hubert's are your typical down to earth family. Jake and Kelly have been married for five years and reside in Roscoe, IL. They have two beautiful daughters, Livia (Liv) who is 3 and Finley (1), which keep them going. Liv is also my son's girlfriend.
On July 8, 2009 Liv was diagnosedwith Sanfilippo Syndrome or MPS. Sanfilippo Syndrome is an inherited disease of metabolism that makes the body unable to to properly break down long chains of sugar molecules. As of now, there is no cure or treatment for Sanfilippo which is a terminal disease. Most commonly children do not live past their early teens. Everyday is a gift for any child with Sanfilippo.
We need to come together for the Hubert's and other families that have children with Sanfilippo. The funds for research are minimal since Sanfilippo is very rare. Our goal is to raise awareness and to raise funds to support research to find a cure so these families can realize their dreams. As many of us have children or know of someone with children, we need to
come together as humans to help out! Any amount donated is greatly appreciated and 100% of your donations will go to the Liv Life Foundation. The Rush will collect donations all season long and present the Hubert's with a check at the last home game.
Please make checks payable to Liv Life Foundation. For more information please visit Liv's website http://www.livlife.us or vist
