"Colts Dominating Performance over the Defending Champs"

South King County Colts are 2-0 with a victory over the defending champion Renton Ravens 36- 20, saturday night at Sunset Chevrolet Stadium.

The Colts powerful offense racked up 463 yards of total offense. The young Colts were led by QB Calvin Schmidtke (22 for 40, 381 yds 4 tds, 2 ints). Schmidtke was able to connect with 7 different receivers including WR Carl Sundquist, whom had TD receptions of 32 & 74 yards. The Colts offense wasn't even the story of the game. The Colts defense held the Ravens offense to only 140 yards (108 yds coming in the 4th quarter). "The defense gave our offense plenty of chances to put points on the board" said head coach of the Colts Tim Reynolds.

The Ravens seemed to have things going early in the 3rd quarter, with an interception and a drive all the way to the Colts 5 yard line. That drive was halted by Colts defensive back, Lorenzo Haynes with an interception in the end zone. "That was huge play in the game by Lorenzo" Reynolds said, "the Ravens are a veteran team and it looked like they were getting the momentum in the game".

The Colts had low points of the game, with 19 penalties and 3 turnovers. Reynolds was asked about the penalties and turnovers, he stated Thursday's practice.

SKC Colts will face the Tacoma Warriors Saturday May 8th at 6pm at Harry E Lang Stadium in Lakewood.

MINOR-LEAGUE FOOTBALL

COMING TO SUMNER

aa

The South King County Colts, a second year Minor-League football franchise, will continue play in the Cascade Football League (CFL) in April 2010, and has secured Sunset Chevrolet Stadium in Sumner as its home facility.

"We are extremely excited about bringing this type of team to Sumner. People in this area eat and breathe football, and Sunset Chevrolet Stadium is a first-class facility, says Tim Reynolds, Colts Owner and Head Coach. The important thing for us is getting involved in the community (local parades, youth programs, food banks) this is equally as important as wins and losses for our organization.

The South King County Colts are schedule to play games against regional semi-pro teams starting with the home opener April 24th at Sunset Chevrolet Stadium (6pm). The Colts will also host a five game home schedule on Saturday nights in Sumner, treating the local football fans with homegrown talent, with the hopes of making it to the CFLS playoffs in July with the Far-west Championship Game in Vegas.
